Leningrad artist Mikhail Petrenko is of the illustrative disposition. In his work a propensity for narrative style is intertwined with the grotesque. Mikhail Petrenko created illustrations for the works of Gogol, Zoshenko, Oleinikov, Kharms, Severianin, Tikhonov and also for the book of poems by the American poet Ogden Nash, which was recently published in Russia.
